John Summa, Ph.D is an economist, statistician and structured finance expert. He co-authored Options on Futures: New Trading Strategies and Options on Futures Workbook (John Wiley & Sons, 2001). He is also the author of Trading Against The Crowd: Profiting From Fear and Greed in Stock, Futures and Options Markets (John Wiley & Sons, 2004), which presents contrarian sentiment trading indicators and trading systems for stocks, futures and options. Dr. Summa co-authored, Getting Started in Employee Stock Options (John Wiley & Sons, 2010), which explores hedging techniques for this form of employee compensation. And in 2012, Dr. Summa published The Anatomy of Volatility, a 57-page ebook for beginners interested in understanding the risk and reward potential associated with volatility. He is available as an economic consultant and structured financial products (derivatives) strategist. John taught economics, statistics and econometrics at the University of Vermont from 2009-2017 and currently lives in Burlington, Vermont with his wife and two children. An award-winning documentary filmmaker in his spare time, John also is a downhill ski coach/instructor and an aspiring fly-fishing guide along the best trout rivers in Vermont.
